The city's Master Plan serves as our official guide for growth and development over the next 10 to 20 years. It is the "road map" detailing a long-term vision and policy agenda for important issues related to growth, development, land use, sustainability and design of public and private spaces.
The plan answers, "What should Battle Creek look like?" and, just as importantly, "How do we get there?"
Planning staff is organizing the update of our Master Plan. The first draft of this plan can be found at the following links. We are interested in receiving your comments and feedback!
A public hearing will take place at the Wednesday, Feb. 28 Planning Commission meeting, which begins at 4 p.m. in the third-floor commission chambers at City Hall, 10 N. Division St. Plan adoption is anticipated at that meeting.
Houseal Lavigne Associates is the City's consultant for this process and is maintaining a project website. Visit that project website, linked from the flyer below the draft plan, to participate in surveys, view documents and engage with a map, all part of our update process.
