About Field Services
The Field Services Superintendent reports to the Public Works Director and is responsible for the maintenance of the 300-plus miles of city streets and state routes in the city, as well as maintenance of all city parks, except the Binder Park complex.
Signs & Signals
The Signal Shop is responsible for the maintenance of 287 traffic signals, flasher signals and school zone flashers. We not only maintain signals within the City of Battle Creek, but also maintain signals within the jurisdictions of the State of Michigan, Calhoun County, City of Marshall and City of Springfield, through maintenance contracts.
The Sign Shop is responsible for nearly 3,500 signs on Battle Creek streets and we create many of our own signs.
