About the Office
This office receives and investigates complaints about police personnel. All complaints are thoroughly investigated with the goal of assuring that residents received appropriate, professional, and courteous police services. Citizens are welcome to stop by the department or call the Office of Professional Standards with concerns. This office is also responsible for recruiting new professional police officers.
This office is under the direction of the Chief of Police.
Training
This unit is responsible for meeting the training and recruiting needs of the department. The department maintains the State of Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES). Please contact this office if you have training or recruitment questions, or would like an information packet sent to you.
