[ARCHIVED] Update: Police investigate murder in Warren Street area

Battle Creek Police Department patch

Update 10/26/2022 -
Police have identified the 36-year-old man who died as William Michael Wilson, known as Mike. He was shot multiple times at close range.
The investigation so far shows that Wilson was targeted, and the intent was to rob him.
The investigation so far also shows that there is no evidence to connect Wilson's murder to a 2012 incident in which Wilson was charged with murder. Police already have looked into potential connections, and found none.
Police have arrested a person of interest in this current case. They plan to submit a murder warrant request to the Calhoun County Prosecutor's Office in the coming days.
This investigation continues. Previous information is below.
