Based on feedback and suggestions the city has received, staff are seeking public input on the possibility of a community cats program.
Such a program could designate a person or group to collect these ownerless, outdoor cats for spaying and neutering, then return them to the neighborhood, where neighbors could feed and care for them.
Feedback provided through an online survey will be considered as staff consider changes to the city’s animal ordinance, as it relates to such cats. It also will help staff determine if further outreach, including possible public meetings, would be helpful.
Please access the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8CGLNQX. It will remain open to responses until Tuesday, Jan. 31.
