[ARCHIVED] Numbered streets water main project starts Tuesday, May 30

WATER WORK

As city crews get back to work on Tuesday, this year’s water main improvement project will begin on the numbered streets.

North 26th Street, from Highland Boulevard to Territorial Road, will be closed to thru traffic starting on Tuesday; crews will maintain local access.

Work hours will be kept as close to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. as possible, and it is anticipated that work on 26th Street will continue through mid-July.

This will be the first of several phases of this project, which aims to replace water mains that have experienced problems with freezing and breaks. Street pavement, concrete, and curbing also will be replaced during this project.

Neighbors on 26th Street also have been informed of the project by door hangers.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue the ongoing projects that maintain our infrastructure.
