Neighbors, visitors also asked for input on indoor play feature.
There’s still snow in the forecast in Michigan, but we’re thinking ahead to summer with the announcement of Flash Flood Water Park’s opening on Memorial Day weekend – and we’re looking for your feedback on the indoor pool.
The park opens Saturday, May 26. It will be open only on weekends through June 10 – from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Full-time summer hours begin June 11 – from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
Opening weekend, May 26-28, visitors can enjoy BOGO half-off admissions, and discounted concessions. General admission is $10 for access to the indoor and outdoor water parks. Superblast admission is $13 for access to the water parks, attractions, and one water wars session. Children 2 and under are free.
Visitors will see a change to the indoor pool this season – the pools and features will be open, without the two indoor water slides. Staff discovered damage to the slide platform last season, closing it in June. Due to more extensive, and costly, damage discovered in the concrete platform and stairs, the slides will be removed ahead of this season’s opening.
In its place, staff plan to add a play area for small children, and have opened a quick survey to get neighbor and visitor feedback on what type of feature everyone would like to see. Access the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7WLVXSF.
Full Blast Recreation Center and Flash Flood Water Park, at 35 Hamblin Ave., are open to groups, large events, and birthday parties. Summer fun passes to the water park still are available, and the schedule of discount days are available on the Recreation events calendar, at bcparks.org.
