Resurfacing treatments on various streets continue next week

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The city’s contractors will perform milling/paving and a new road resurfacing process on Monday, Sept. 24, on various streets

Beginning Monday city contractors will begin rejuvenation on the streets listed below. Rejuvenation is a new road resurfacing process that is similar to chip seal. Emulsion is applied that penetrates the asphalt and restores it back to its original chemical compound. It is mixed with sand to make it more abrasive and less slippery.

Work will take place from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This work is expected to complete by Oct. 5, weather permitting.

The City is testing this process in the areas listed below:

In addition, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 25, city contractors will be milling and paving Denso Rd., Dickman Rd. to Hill Brady Rd. Work will take place from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This work is expected to be complete by Oct. 9, weather permitting.

There will be lane closures in these areas; however, there will be a lane open for vehicles and pedestrians. Please be alert in these areas and follow traffic control directions. Please plan for intermittent traffic disruptions during this work. Please do not park in these areas during this work as vehicles may be towed.
