Signal work at Helmer/Columbia
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Crews will be working at the intersection of Helmer Rd. and Columbia Ave. starting this afternoon.
As part of the MDOT’s signal upgrade project, crews will be installing underground vehicle detectors at the intersection of Helmer Rd. and Columbia Ave. The vehicle detectors will help traffic flow more efficiently.
Work is expected to take place daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The work is expected to be complete by Friday, August 16, at 3 pm, weather permitting.
During this work, the road will remain open with periodic lane closures in all directions. Please obey all work zone signs and be alert for lane closures, for the safety of our workers, and fellow drivers.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during this and all work in the city.
