A water main break at the intersection of Capital Avenue SW and Langley Road requires a water shutoff and road closure starting overnight tonight, and extending through Friday.
Crews will be repairing a water main break and installing valves to improve the water infrastructure in this area. They will repave the road with concrete, as hot asphalt companies have shut down for the winter.
A road closure and detour will begin at around 9 p.m. today, with a water shutoff starting at 11 p.m.
Capital Avenue SW will be closed from approximately Hamilton Lane to Beckwith Drive from 9 p.m. today and through the day on Friday. Emergency vehicles cannot get through the intersection of Capital and Langley; thru traffic should use the marked detour on East Minges Road, Riverside Drive, and Beckley Road.

City neighbors and businesses on these streets should be prepared to be without water starting at 11:00 tonight, for at least several hours. Please be prepared for a potential boil water advisory to be issued when water service returns. Additional information will be made available to the media, and through the city’s website and social media, should it become necessary.
