Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association

The Battle Creek Citizens Academy Alumni Association is made up of citizens who have completed the Academy and are interested in being a link between the Police Department and the community. The active members can:
  • Help promote relations between citizens and the Police Department
  • Work with the Citizens Traffic Watch Car enforcing handicapped parking
  • Help with making sure that street lights are working
  • Monitor speeds in neighborhoods
  • Help with making sure that neighborhood streets are appropriately marked with speed limits signs
  • Attend neighborhood association meetings to bring concerns back to the Police Department
Battle Creek Citizens Academy Alumni Association have also helped with different activities such as:
  • National Night Out
  • The yearly Triathlon
  • Different bike events to help with traffic concerns
Alumni members have worked at MIS Speedway twice a year driving the 6 seat golf carts for disabled people, transporting them to and from the parking lots to the grandstands. This was a major fundraiser to keep the academy going and to develop the funds needed for projects.
