The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a fully involved detached two-car garage at 2:39 a.m. Rescue 6 and Squad 6 arrived to find the entire garage involved, and heat damage to four houses surrounding the structure. Truck 1, Car 3, Rescue 3, Squad 2, Engine 2, and Engine 5 pulled attacked lines, set up a water supply, protected exposures, and ensured all civilians were safe and accounted for.

The Fire Marshal investigated the fire and has determined faulty electrical to be the cause. Due to the quick response of the Battle Creek Fire Department, four homes were saved.
