[ARCHIVED] Bus routes detour for road, sewer work

Battle Creek Transit bus stopped at a shelter at the downtown transfer center

Battle Creek Transit is detouring two routes around road and sewer projects happening in the city.

  • 1W – West Michigan bus route – The bus will travel outbound on West Michigan Avenue, then turn right on Broadway Boulevard, right on Morgan Avenue West, right on Miller Avenue, and right on Taylor Avenue to resume the regular route.
During this temporary detour, the bus will NOT service all bus stops on North Bedford Road/M-37.
The bus will resume its regular route on Monday, Sept. 12.
This detour is due to the Michigan Department of Transportation paving project on Bedford Road/M-37 that will close the road from West Michigan to Morgan Road.
  • 2W – Columbia-Territorial bus route – The bus will travel down Territorial, turning right on Bechman Avenue, left on Surby Avenue, right on Highland Avenue, and right on Columbia Avenue to resume the regular route.
The bus will NOT service stops on Territorial at Pioneer, Territorial at Highland Avenue, and Highland Avenue at Wentworth Avenue. We encourage riders to use the stops on Territorial before Bechman, or Highland near Planet Fitness.
This detour is due to the city’s sanitary sewer lining project happening in the area. We expect this detour to be in place through Monday, Sept. 19.

As always, if you need help planning your trip, please call our excellent Transit team at 269-966-3474. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we plan around city infrastructure improvements.
