Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to 57 Massachusetts Ave. for a reported structure fire. Car 3 arrived to find smoke showing from the second floor. Engine 3 found a fire in a second-floor bedroom. Engine 3 and Truck 1 quickly extinguished the fire, ensured all occupants were out, and secured the electrical service. 
Due to the quick actions of the fire department, the fire was contained to a bedroom. No injuries were reported. The fire was determined to be caused by an overloaded electrical cord.
