Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 232 Post Ave. 

Car 3 arrived within two minutes to find fire and smoke showing from the first floor of a two-story home. Engine 3 arrived soon after to extend a hose line to extinguish the fire on the first floor. Rescue 6 searched the first floor while Truck 1 searched the second floor. Rescue 4 extended a hose line to the second floor to check for extension. Engine 2 searched the basement, while Engine 5 performed support functions. 

No one was home at the time of the fire. The fire was under control within 10 minutes. No injuries were reported.
The fire started in the living room, and the Fire Marshal is investigating for cause. The fire appears to be accidental.
