Several different Department of Public Works projects are taking place on Thursday, Nov. 3.
See below the details of each project – continuation of a water service replacement on Cliff Street, traffic signal work at the intersection of Kendall and Van Buren streets, and a tree removal on Capital Avenue SW.
If your morning commute includes Cliff or Capital, we recommend that you seek an alternate route.

Cliff Street closure – Water Division
Cliff Street – Main Street to Elm Street
Closure, approximately 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for water service replacement.
Detour: From Elm, use Mary and Main streets; from Douglas Street, use Midway Court or Lathrop and
Main; from Main, use Lathrop, Midway or Mary to return to Cliff
Kendall/Van Buren signal – Traffic Division
Intersection of Kendall and Van Buren streets
Traffic signal repairs, approximately 8 a.m.-noon.
Temporary stop signs will be set up at the intersection, as power to the signal will be off. Traffic will be able to pass through the intersection.
Capital SW tree removal – Field Services Division
Southbound Capital Avenue SW at intersection with Jennings Road
Crew will work from approximately 7:30 a.m.-noon to remove an uprooting tree that hangs over Capital. Traffic will be stopped periodically in both lanes; traffic regulators will help with traffic flow.
