The Battle Creek Tax Increment Finance Authority/Brownfield Redevelopment Authority is looking for a new, city neighbor member.
It is through the work of dedicated neighbors and the business community members who choose to serve on our boards and commissions, that we have their representation in the business of city government.
The TIFA/Brownfield Redevelopment Authority’s purpose is to stop the decline of property values, increase property tax valuation, eliminate causes for a decline in value, and promote growth in the Fort Custer Industrial Park. This is in support of economic development in the community.
This board must have nine to 13 members, serving no more than four consecutive four-year terms. The board is made up of at least four city neighbors; four property owners, business owners, or designees of the TIFA District; and the city manager or designee.
Learn more about each city board, committee and council, and get an application to join at our website, www.battlecreekmi.gov/boardsandcommissions.
For the current TIFA board vacancy, applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 14. Applications also are accepted throughout the year for all city boards and committees, and are kept on file.
