Other information: Battle Creek Fire Department crews arrived to find a duplex home on fire. Heavy fire and smoke was coming from the rear of the structure. Fire crews pulled hoselines and immediately started searching for victims and performing fire control. No civilians were injured. One firefighter sustained a minor back injury, and was treated on scene by Lifecare Ambulance and was released, back to duty. One cat died in the fire. Salvage and overhaul was conducted. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the BCFD Fire Inspector.
