Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a vacant, residential structure fire at 31 Inn Road. Engine 3 arrived within two minutes to find fire showing from the first-floor rear of the structure. Car 3 arrived soon after and assumed command. 

Engine 3 extended a hose line to quickly extinguish the fire. Truck 1 searched the first floor. Rescue 2 and Squad 6 searched the second floor and extinguished fire extension. Engine 4 assisted with the water supply, and Rescue 6 secured the utilities and searched the basement. 

No injuries were reported. The fire was under control within 10 minutes and damage was minimized due to the quick actions of the fire department.

The Fire Inspector is investigating the cause of this suspicious fire. Anyone who was in the area at the time of this fire, who might have helpful information, should call Fire Department headquarters at 269-966-3519.
