Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a deck fire threatening the attached home. Upon arrival, Engine 4 found smoke coming from the rear of the structure. After further investigation, they found an electric smoker had caught a portion of the attached deck on fire. Engine 4 extended a hose line to the rear of the structure. With assistance from Rescue 6, the fire was extinguished in a matter of minutes. Due to the quick actions of BCFD personnel, damage to the deck was minimal, and the home sustained no damage at all. No injuries were reported.
