Battle Creek Police have confirmed that the missing 56-year-old Battle Creek man, Brian Duane Piper, was FOUND SAFE around 8 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 7.
Piper was located, in good health, on M-37 in Bedford Village. He is now safe and at home with family.
We would like to thank our neighbors who called in possible sightings throughout this missing person incident.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek Police are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a missing person this morning, Monday, Oct. 7.
The missing vulnerable adult is identified as 56-year-old Brian Duane Piper of Battle Creek.
Piper was last seen at his home on Sigel Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6.
Other identifying information for Piper includes:
- Race: White
- Height: 5 ft., 11 in.
- Weight: 150 lbs.
- Facial features: Brown hair, blue eyes
- Last seen wearing: Blue jeans and a grey sweatshirt
Police are also sharing that Piper is a schizophrenic, bipolar, and has a seizure disorder. He is also shy and reclusive, and normally will only speak if spoken to. Due to his medication, Piper has a cognitive delay similar to an adult male with dementia.
