BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek Police arrested a 68-year-old man on charges of solicitation, following a nearly month-long investigation, today, Thursday, Nov. 21.
The BCPD and Lakeview Public Schools were informed on Oct. 29 of allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a Lakeview elementary school substitute teacher and student.
Throughout a nearly month-long investigation, the BCPD determined that inappropriate conduct had occurred between the substitute teacher and student. The conduct was not of a physical nature and, instead, centered around inappropriate communication between the substitute teacher and student.
Following consultation with the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s office, charges of solicitation were approved against the substitute teacher. The BCPD arrested the 68-year-old man today, Thursday, Nov. 21, on the charges of solicitation. He is currently lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.
