Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at the address noted above.  Arrived to find one side of the exterior of the dwelling on fire with the occupants safely outside.  Fire crews extinguished the fire and checked for extension into the structure.  Crews were on scene for approximately one hour.  No injuries were reported.  Crews on scene were Engine 2, Squad 2, Rescue 3, Rescue 4, Engine 5, Truck 6 and Squad 6.

The fire was caused from discarded ash placed into a yard waste container outside of the dwelling.
