Other information: Rescue 3 responded to a semi-truck overturned on the grounds of Post Foods. The driver of the vehicle was still inside the cab upon arrival. R3 used an attic ladder to extricate the patient, who was not hurt, and transferred his care to LifeCare Ambulance for evaluation. Engine 2 responded with Haz-Mat 1 for equipment to mitigate the hazard of leaking fuel from the fuel tanks, and help with the transfer of 48,000 pounds of liquid sugar from the trailer. BCFD personnel deployed absorbent socks, pad, boom, and powdered absorbents to contain the spilled material, and drilled the fuel tanks for removal. Command was terminated at 11:20 p.m.
