Vehicles involved, if any: 2 in detached garage totally lost and 2 vehicles in neighbor’s garage damaged, one was moderate damage and the other minimal damage.

Other information: Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a reported fully involved detached garage fire, threatening the house and neighbor’s garage. Rescue 4 arrived to find heavy fire coming from the garage in back of the house and extended into the neighbor’s garage. Rescue 4 pulled two 1-3/4 inch hose lines and started fighting fire in both garages. When Engine 5 arrived, they pulled a 2-1/2 inch line to help put main garage fire out as two vehicles were fully involved also. The houses were checked for any fire extension and both only had exterior siding damage. BCFD responded with 3 engines, 2 aerials, 1 squad, and a command car. Eighteen firefighters and one command officer were on scene. The fire was extinguished quickly minimizing damage to homes and other garage.The Fire Marshal is investigating.
