Storm sewer televising starts Monday

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Routine inspection and cleaning of the city’s storm sewer system will take place on a section of Columbia Avenue next week.

City contractor Taplin Group, LLC, will perform the work as part of the city’s routine televising and cleaning plan. “Televising” is inspecting the storm sewer using cameras. Cleaning takes place as needed.

The work will take place on Columbia Avenue W., between Arbor Street and LaVista Blvd., beginning on Monday, May 11.

Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  All work will take place in public rights of way, and in sanitary sewer easements. Disruption to neighbors will be minimal, and streets will remain open to traffic, although, there may be some temporary lane closures.

This work should be complete by Friday, May 15, weather permitting.

Please use caution driving through these areas.  We appreciate everyone’s patience during these work times.
