Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a reported vacant structure fire at 4:53 a.m. on 42 Whittier Ave. Rescue 3 arrived to find the rear of the structure fully involved. Crews pulled 3 attack lines and performed a primary search of the residence from the unburned side. The search came up negative for any victims. Units had the fire under control in under 20 minutes. Overhaul was completed afterwards. No civilians or Firefighters were injured. The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
