[ARCHIVED] Helmer closed Columbia to Territorial on June 8, 9

Helmer sewer repair 06082020

The city will completely close a section of Helmer Road on Monday and Tuesday to repair a failed sewer pipe.

Helmer will be closed from Columbia Avenue to Territorial Road. Traffic should use Columbia, 20th Street, and Territorial as a detour around this work.

The closure will be in place from 6 a.m. Monday, June 8 through 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 9. As always, work is dependent on the weather.

Businesses along this section of Helmer will have access; city staff have contacted them about this work.

The sewer pipe failure is near East Airport Road, on Helmer, and creates a drainage problem.
