[ARCHIVED] Downtown sidewalk closed this week for art installation

Starting Tuesday, a section of sidewalk downtown will close to pedestrians to allow for an art installation, by Monument Park.

The sidewalk on the south side of Michigan Avenue will be closed from Division Street to Hamblin Avenue. The closure will be in place from Tuesday, July 7 to Saturday, July 11, weather permitting.

The painted art will say #BlackLivesMatter and #StandInSolidarity. Artists may work in the evening, after the hottest part of the day.

Pedestrians should use the Hamblin/Michigan and Division/Michigan crosswalks to access the other side of the street.
