Fog seal application Monday

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Pavement Maintenance Systems will begin applying fog seal treatments to various city streets Monday, July 20.

The following streets will be fog sealed, with work taking place from approximately 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Work is expected to finish by July 29, weather permitting.

Riverside Drive - Beckley Road to Columbia Avenue

Upton Avenue - Kendall Street to Angell Street

Union Avenue - Michigan Avenue to Van Buren Street

Roosevelt Avenue - Goodale Avenue to Garrison Avenue

A fog seal is an application of asphalt emulsion over a previously chip sealed road.

To prevent damage to vehicles, motorists are advised not to drive over this emulsion for 60 - 90 minutes after it is applied.

Traffic regulators will be in place maintaining one-way traffic.

The streets will remain open and neighbors will have access to their driveways except when fog seal is being applied in front of their property.

Please plan for intermittent traffic disruptions, which could cause delays. Motorist are advised to seek alternate routes.

Please do not park on these streets during work hours; vehicles will be towed.

 We appreciate everyone’s patience.
