Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 328 Lakeshore Drive. Engine 4 and Squad 4 arrived within minutes to find smoke showing from the front door. After further investigation, the crews located a small fire in the basement. Car 3 assumed command. Engine 4 quickly extinguished the fire, while Truck 6 and Squad 6 assisted with ventilation. E2 assisted with support operations. Due to the quick actions of the fire department, the fire was extinguished with minimal damage to the home, and no injuries reported. The fire originated in the area of a dehumidifier, however, the official cause has not been determined.
