Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 157 Cherrywood Lane. Engine 4 and Squad 4 arrived within minutes to find a small fire in the garage. The majority of the fire had self-extinguished prior to the Fire Department’s arrival. The occupants were able to safely exit, and no injuries were reported. Engine 4 quickly extinguished the remaining fire with the assistance of Squad 4.The fire is suspicious. The Battle Creek Police Department is taking the lead on the investigation until the Battle Creek Fire Marshal returns to his office.
