The City Attorney’s Office would like to remind residents that building and housing code violation pre-trial hearings now take place at City Hall, 10 N. Division St.
This change was made at the beginning of the year to provide better customer service to those involved in the hearings; City Hall is more convenient for people who need to obtain permits for code-related work. This also allows customers to obtain other important and related documents from Code Compliance and Assessing.
Those who receive court notices for these types of hearings should check those notices for the location. Thursday morning pre-trial hearings take place in Room 117 at City Hall, not at the Calhoun County Justice Center.
Please double-check your notice before arriving for your pre-trial hearing, to ensure you are in the correct location. City staff want to assist in keeping this process as smooth as possible for all involved.
Please note that this change is for building and housing code pre-trial hearings only.
