Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 203 Post Ave. at 4:17 a.m. Rescue 3 was first on scene to discover the entire front of the house on fire. Car 3 took command and R3 went to a defensive attack until Engine 2, Rescue 4, and Squad 4 established a water supply and hand line support. After a quick knockdown, an offensive attack was established and crews performed interior operations, search, and extinguishment. Engine 5 was assigned to Rapid Intervention Crew and Squad 6 and Engine 6 performed safety and secondary searches. Crews were on scene for over 70 minutes. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation.
