Battle Creek woke up to about 8 inches of snow, and we have some important points to share:
-If you are parked on the street and can move your vehicle, please do. This lets our plows get curb to curb once they can get into the neighborhoods.
-Waste Management will NOT pick up today (Feb. 16), so Tuesday folks, you can bring your carts and bags back in. They will delay everyone's service one day the rest of this week, and expect to get to everyone by Saturday.
-Battle Creek Transit is operating, but focuses on safety and not speed, so they may be delayed. Riders, please get as close to the stop as you can, so drivers can see you.
-Calhoun County Public Health Department vaccine clinics scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16 are postponed. If you were scheduled today, please check with the organization point person for rescheduled times and dates. County buildings are closed today for everyone's safety.
-The city's Battle Creek Executive Airport is open Tuesday, with a runway available for aircraft operations. Staff are working their way through the snow clearing priorities, focusing on Priority 1 areas.
