Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a reported duplex-style structure fire at 4 S. 22nd St. Rescue 4 arrived at the scene to find flames and smoke showing throughout the unit. The dwelling was not occupied at the time of the fire. There was no damage to the adjoining unit. A hose line was extended to quickly extinguish the fire. The fire unit was under renovation, and extensive overhaul was performed. Engine 2, Squad 2, Rescue 3, Engine 5, Engine 6, Squad 6, and Car 3 assisted on scene. No injuries reported. The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
