[ARCHIVED] 2W Columbia/Territorial bus to detour for several months

Columbia/Territorial bus leaving the downtown Battle Creek transfer center

Detour is due to water system and road work coming up.

Starting Friday, the 2W Columbia/Territorial bus will start a major detour because of this season’s water system improvement and road pavement projects on Columbia Avenue.

The Battle Creek Transit team expects the detour to be in place through July.

No bus stops along Columbia Avenue between Riverside Drive and Helmer Road – except Meijer – will receive bus service during this detour. Buses will use neighboring streets and temporary stops to get around the work on Columbia. Those are listed below, and appear on our Interactive Work Map at Click the map link on the left side of the page.

The 2W bus will keep running every hour, leaving downtown at 15 minutes after the hour. It will still stop at major locations, like Meijer and Columbia Plaza. The biggest route change will be to inbound service. Once the bus leaves Meijer, it will take Helmer to Territorial, then use neighborhood streets to get to Riverside Drive.

We appreciate your patience during the detour. We may experience some different stop times, and/or delays. Please call the Transit team at 269-966-3474 for help planning your trip.
