Other information: Car 3, Engine 2, Rescue 3, Rescue 4, Engine 5, Truck 6, and Squad 6 were dispatched to a fully involved fire of a 5th wheel camper parked next to a pole barn. The fire extended quickly into the side and the attic area of the barn. Leroy/Newton Tanker Trucks were quickly called for mutual aid to supply water. Truck 6 and Squad 6 were the first units to arrive on scene to find heavy black smoke coming from the camper and the roof of the pole barn. Truck 6 made an extended hose stretch to attack the fire because the camper and barn were 400 feet from the road. Leroy Township Tanker arrived shortly after to establish a water supply to Truck 6. The fire was controlled quickly because of an aggressive fire attack by all crews on scene. Overhaul and salvage was performed. The fire is now under investigation by the Fire Marshal. No firefighters or civilians were injured.
