[ARCHIVED] Athletic events affect traffic on Saturday morning

Two athletic events this Saturday, July 17, will affect city streets for several hours.

Please use caution, watch for event participants, and avoid these listed areas during event hours when possible.

  • Youth Village 5K Run/Walk from New Level Sports – 7-10 a.m.
    • Map of affected streets
    • Barricades will be in place along the route, and runners and walkers will be on the road
    • West Van Buren Street – North Cass to Limit Street
    • Limit – Van Buren to West Goodale Avenue
  • Cereal City Athletics Triathlon – 7-11 a.m.
    • Map of affected streets
    • Starts and ends at Willard Beach; police will be present to stop traffic intermittently; bikers and runners will be on the road
    • Capital Avenue SW – Weeks to West Minges – police will route traffic to Riverside Drive
    • Golden Avenue – Capital SW to Kirkpatrick Drive
    • West Minges – Capital SW to South Minges
    • South Minges – West Minges to Watkins Road
    • Watkins – South Minges to Renton Road
    • Watkins Lane from Watkins Road through the neighborhood (a loop)
