After cleaning and sanitizing our Full Blast Recreation Center today, we will reopen the facility - including fitness center and rentals - for regular hours tomorrow - Saturday, July 24. Full Blast is open 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday/Sunday, and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

KidVenture Summer Camp at Full Blast will resume on Monday, July 26. The city and Public Health Department coordinated to contact trace campers and staff, and everyone can return who was not identified as a close contact.
Staff also is calling all camp families to share this information.

News from July 22, 2021 --

Due to a summer camp counselor testing positive for COVID-19 today, the city’s camp will close immediately, until further notice.

Full Blast Recreation Center – including the fitness center – also is closed until further notice, so we can clean and sanitize the building, and test our remaining camp staff for COVID-19.

We hold summer camp at Full Blast from June to August. We host an average of 100 children per week, and have 25 camp staff. Due to the summer heat, and no air conditioning in our facility, most camp activities take place outside.

City staff are calling all camp families to notify them of the situation and camp closure. We will share camp and facility reopening plans when they become available.

The Calhoun County Public Health Department will call anyone who was a close contact to the counselor, and provide instructions. A close contact is anyone who was within six feet of that person for a total of 15 minutes or more.

We will continue to work closely with the Public Health Department to make sure campers, staff, and facility visitors receive any information they need related to the situation.

Flash Flood Water Park will remain open from 12-6 p.m. daily. The water park operates separately from Full Blast, and visitors enter from the outside.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, and encourage you to get the COVID-19 vaccination if possible.
