Other information: Car 3, Engine 2, Rescue 3, Rescue 4, Engine 5, Truck 6, and Squad 6 were dispatched to a multiple family dwelling structure fire. Engine 5 was the first unit to arrive on scene to find heavy dark smoke coming from the doorway of the apartment on the first floor. Engine 5 pulled an attack hose line, made an interior attack, and quickly gained fire control. While Engine 5 was extinguishing the fire, all other fire crews were evacuating people from all adjacent structures that were connected to the apartment that was on fire. Fire units then performed overhaul and checked for extension. The fire was caused by cooking on a stove and was accidental. No firefighters or civilians were injured.
