Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 93 Babcock St. Engine 5 arrived within five minutes to find flames & smoke showing from the living room area of the first floor. A hand-line was quickly deployed to extinguish the fire and search for any occupants. Rescue 4 assisted with searching for occupants. Engine 2, Rescue 3, Truck 6, Squad 6 and Car 3 were also on scene assisting. The fire is believed to have started in the living room. No occupants were home at the time of the fire. Due to the quick actions of our fire crews, the fire was under control within 8 minutes. No injuries reported. The Fire Marshal is investigating, however, no cause has been determined at this time.
