The Battle Creek Police Department will hold the ninth annual Trunk or Treat as a walk-up event this year – join the fun from 5-7 p.m. next Friday, Oct. 29.
Families will attend again this year at Bailey Park, 1392 Capital Ave. NE. Volunteers will distribute candy in the parking lot in front of C.O. Brown stadium, closest to the main, Eaton Street, park entrance. Visitors can park in this lot and walk over.
Trunk or Treat is free and open to the public. Volunteers will be properly spaced and will wear masks. All park entrances/exits will be open.
Anyone interested in supporting the event can donate to the Battle Creek Police Department Law Enforcement Community Education Community Project Fund, a fund of the Battle Creek Community Foundation. Please make checks payable to BCCF/PDLAW and mail to Battle Creek Community Foundation, 32 W. Michigan Ave., Suite 1, Battle Creek, MI 49017. Those interested also can donate on the Community Foundation’s website, https://bccfoundation.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create?funit_id=1846.
Please note that the City of Battle Creek does not regulate Halloween in any way. The holiday is on Oct. 31 – a Sunday this year – and trick or treating hours are at neighbors’ discretion. Please enjoy activities in groups when possible, use flashlights or reflective clothing after dark, and only visit homes with outdoor lights on.
We appreciate everyone’s support for this great event. Please be well and enjoy your Halloween activities with safety in mind.
