Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire at Reconserve of Michigan, at 170 Angell St. Engine 5 arrived within six minutes and determined there was active fire in a large machine inside a building. Engine 5 proceeded to extinguish the fire with assistance from Truck 6, Squad 6, and Engine 4. Due to quick actions and an early notification from a neighboring business, the fire was under control within 20 minutes. Fire crews then continued to work with maintenance staff for over an hour to disassemble the heavy machinery to extinguish remaining hot spots. No injuries were reported.
