[ARCHIVED] The City of Battle Creek launches Textedly

Textedly (370 x 370 px) (3)

The City of Battle Creek is excited to announce the launch of Textedly, our newest communication tool.

Textedly is an SMS/texting notification system to better reach our community members. This tool will allow us to text you, if you choose to opt-in, about a variety of topics.

We released a poll back in August to get community input on what you would like to receive text messages about. Based on those results, we have prepared three categories of messages: Emergency alerts, general city news, and COVID19 information.

If you would like to receive text messages from the City, you can opt-in by:

  • Text BCALERTS to (844) 673-7474 to subscribe to emergency alerts (boil water advisories, severe weather, crime emergencies, etc.)
  • Text BCNEWS to (844) 673-7474 to subscribe to general city news (building closures, events, elections, and general city service info)
  • Text BCCOVID19 to (844) 673-7474 to subscribe to COVID19 (alerts and updates)
*Please note that each alert does need to be set up separately, using separate one-word texts.

You may subscribe to all of them, or you may pick and choose based on what you want to be notified about. Your phone’s standard SMS/texting fees may apply.

Once you subscribe to a category, you will receive an automated reply back. This reply will include the estimated amount of messages you will be sent a month, how to cancel your subscription, and how to seek help with this system.

We look forward to connecting with you!
