[ARCHIVED] Police Department building closes Tues/Thurs until March 1

Circular building corner, white tiles along the top, windows underneath. Says Battle Creek Police.

We have a few more city service notes, related to trying to stop the spread of COVID-19 among our staff. This is in addition to the Community Services information we shared Sunday night.

All of these service changes will be in place until March 1.

First, our buildings are open, but we will have many team members working remotely. Departments that can rotate staff working in person will do that.

Second, the Police Department will make these temporary changes:
  • The PD building will be completely closed to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays during this time. This includes Records services.
  • Fingerprinting will NOT be available during this time. Fingerprinting will resume March 1.
The Police Department Tuesday/Thursday closure starts tomorrow, Jan. 27.

Finally, we will cancel any public meetings that do not have immediate business, or that have business that can wait a month. Those public meetings that must happen will be in the Commission Chambers as much as possible, so that attendees can space out.

We appreciate your patience and understanding with these service changes, and with any service delays you experience. We want to do all we can to do our part in limiting the spread of the virus in our community.
