Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 354 W Burnham St.  Car 3 arrived within four minutes to find heavy fire showing from the rear of the residential structure.  Engine 2 and Squad 2 stretched a hand-line to search for occupants and attack the fire on the first floor.  R-3 and T-1 stretched a hand-line to search for occupants and attack the fire on the second floor.  Engine 5 had the supply line from the hydrant, while Rescue 6 and Squad 6 assisted with fire attack.  It was later determined that the structure was unoccupied and the fire was under control within 20 minutes.  No injuries were reported, however, two pets did not survive.  Due to the quick actions of the fire department, the damage was isolated.  The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
