[ARCHIVED] Watkins Road project to begin Monday

Watkins Rd

City crews will begin construction on Watkins Rd. on Monday, March 21, 2022.

This project will widen Watkins Rd. from a two-lane road to a three-lane road, adding a two-way left turn lane. Construction will also include the addition of a left turn lane to all points at the intersection of Mercury Dr. and Watkins Rd.

Work will begin Monday, March 21, and take place from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This project is expected to be complete by July, weather permitting.

No road closures are in place; however, vehicular traffic in the areas should be aware of construction activity and follow posted signs and flagger instructions. Please plan for intermittent traffic disruptions and lane shifts during paving.

See these streets on our Public Works interactive project map, at This is also available through the Your Government tab, under Public Works.
