Tonight at about 8 p.m. the Battle Creek Police responded to Claude Evans park for a complaint of shots fired.
An officer in the area heard the shots, and went to investigate. Other people in the area of the park had taken a 16-year-old to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police made the connection to the park and investigated there.
Any people in the park had left, and at this time police do not have witnesses or a suspect in the incident. Police continue to investigate and believe the public is safe.
