BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Two people died in a car accident in the area of N. Washington Avenue and Parkway Drive tonight, Thursday, Oct. 27.
Battle Creek Police responded shortly after 6 p.m. and confirmed the single-car accident happened, and that both people in the car were ejected from it.
First responders on the scene attempted life-saving measures on both individuals, however were unsuccessful. After communicating with their families, BCPD identified Barbara Weaver, 67, and Willie Stokes, 72.
The vehicle was traveling southbound on N. Washington, near Parkway, when it struck a nearby house, located at 267 N. Washington Ave. There were no injuries to the occupants and minor damage to the home.
Police believe speed was a factor in the crash, and it appears Weaver and Stokes were not wearing seat belts.
Police do not know who was driving and continue to investigate.
